Paul James At The Movies

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Thursday night, my wife and I were invited to the weekly Sneak Peek at The Marion Centre Cinema to see TMNT. It was off the hook good. I loved how the writer had the teenage turtles language perfect for 2014. (I know a little about that language since I have 2 teens in my house.) The action was great and expected as Michael Bay was the director. I was surprised that it only had one explosion, but that may have been obligatory. One action CGI scene was about 15 minutes of the 90 minute film and seemed never ending. The movie is live action and, of course, stars Megan Fox. Michael Bay almost always hires Megan for the female lead. The Male mead is Will Arnett who plays a great, but predictable character. The predictability of the movie is probably the only drawback, because even with my simple mind, I was able to know where the plot was going. I would give it 4 out of 5 stars and tell you that it was the best film I have seen all summer.

We had a great time at the Marion Centre Cinema with their $5 ticket for all shows and their $12 all you can eat and drink popcorn and soft drink deal.
